At 8:21 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Cherry Quay Road after the operator of a pickup truck, following too closely, caused a rear-end collision with a school bus, Brick Township police said. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the incident, police said.
First responders and school employees worked to ensure the safe discharge of the students to their parents who were at the scene and to release the remaining students who were then safely transported to the school, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
